A great education is the bedrock of a wonderful life.

Bedrock is a podcast about getting to the bottom of how we can systematically equip young people to flourish as adults.

As your host, I'm interested in exploring what works that schools, teachers, and parents can apply. I'm also interested in learning about the bad ideas that are holding our kids and our society back. And finally, I'm interested in what's next: what are the experiments being worked on and where might it be worthwhile to push boundaries.

I'm looking forward to interviewing a mix of teachers and professors, founders of innovative schools, policy makers, technology founders, and more.

My inspiration for this show was another podcast called My Climate Journey (now called Inevitable), where an entrepreneur wanted to explore the world of climate through a series of interviews. That's what I'm doing here, but with education.

I hope you'll be patient with me as I explore, as I anticipate I'm going to say some pretty naive things and ask some dumb questions, but that's how we learn, right?

Finally, education can get politically charged and contentious fast. I'm hoping to build a community of guests and listeners who can treat one another with humanity and respect, all united in our common goal to equip young people with the tools they need to thrive as adults.
